Vriesendorp & Gaade once filed Dutch patent No. 1. This prompted us to examine other Dutch patents with special numbers. With surprising results! This month: Dutch patent No. 142500.

Dutch patent No. 142500 was filed on July 25, 1968, and granted on November 15, 1974, in the name of International Polaroid Corporation of the United States. The patent relates to a folding photographic camera. Such cameras were already known. However, thanks to a small angle between the optical axis of the lens and the normal to the reflecting surface, the camera in this patent application is also very compact when unfolded.
