Plant Variety Rights

Plant variety rights or plant breeder’s rights provide the opportunity to protect new varieties of plants. This may regard flowers, such as tulips or roses, but also fruit trees, etc.

Monopoly

When plant variety rights are granted, this ensures a temporary monopoly, relating to the propagating activities and marketing of the propagating material such as for instance rose cuttings of the protected variety.

Vriesendorp & Gaade

Vriesendorp & Gaade is experienced in national and European procedures for obtaining plant variety rights and in court proceedings in case of infringement of exclusive plant variety rights by third parties.
